The Combustion Institute is an educational non-profit, international, scientific society whose purpose is to promote the research activities in combustion science. The Indian Section is one among the 33 Sections spread world over.

The objectives of the Combustion Institute-Indian Section(CIIS) are to promote interactions among researchers, academicians, scholars and scientists interested in Combustion Science and Technology through various technical meetings, workshops and a biennial national conference and circulation of a quarterly News letter.
